Department of “Foreign Language and the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan”
Meeting of members of the National Kurultai with the public of the city to discuss the reforms implemented in the political system of Kazakhstan
On February 7, 2023 year , members of the National Kurultai met with the public of the city at the House of Friendship to discuss the reforms being implemented in the political system of Kazakhstan.
Organizers: Department for ensuring the activities of the republican House of Friendship in Almaty RGI (Republican government institution) “Kogamdyk kelisim” of the Ministry of information and social development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Participants: public and political figures, representatives of ethno-cultural associations, representatives of the scientific intelligentsia, members of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, members of the Scientific and expert Council, youth, etc.
The main speakers at the meeting were:
- Bibigul Zheksenbay – Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Deputy Chairman of the National Kurultai;
- Zhomart Simtikov – Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay;
- Shaimardan Nurumov – member of the National Kurultai, honorary chairman of the republican ethno-cultural center of the Uighurs of Kazakhstan;
- Gulnar Annakulieva – candidate of political sciences, Chairman of the Turkmen Ethnocultural Association;
- Yuri Shin – member of the Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan, chairman of the Association of Koreans of Kazakhstan;
- From the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. Zhurgenov was attended by a member of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, a member of the Scientific and expert Group of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Professor Shaimerdenova Mendyganym Dzhamalbekovna.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the reforms being implemented in the political system of Kazakhstan and the development of youth policy.
In her speech, Bibigul Zheksenbay focused on the formation of a renewed composition of the upper chamber, elections to the Senate, and the importance of reforming the political system of Kazakhstan. Attention was paid to the goals and objectives of the National Kurultai as a unifying factor of the nation. And also, according to the order of the president, working groups were created in sectors (economy, education, science, social sphere and culture). This will strengthen the feedback with the society and timely pay attention to problematic issues and make appropriate decisions. In her speech, B. Zheksenbai noted the active participation of representatives of ethno-cultural associations and members of the APK (Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan) in the work of the Kurultai.
The speakers at the meeting spoke about how the ongoing political reforms affect the life of the people. Attention was drawn to the electoral system, especially with regard to the distribution of quotas among youth and women, and the representation of members of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in the Senate.
At the meeting, the speakers paid much attention to the importance of the demographic situation in Kazakhstan, the importance of youth participation in the political and public life of Kazakhstan. And also, that it is very important to work more actively with the population on the issues of explaining political reforms, especially within ethno-cultural associations.
There is a lot of work to be done, and everyone should have their own task. And most importantly, now is the time that requires a lot of patience, endurance and support from the state and the President.
