Department Information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        The Department of Sound Directing and Cinematography trains specialists in the fields of audiovisual art, audio production, cinematography, photography, and television. The department\u2019s activities are aimed at developing students\u2019 professional, creative, technical, and research competencies in accordance with the current requirements of the film, television, photography, and audio industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

         Educational activities are carried out in accordance with the State Compulsory Standards of the Republic of Kazakhstan, approved by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, within the following bachelor\u2019s degree educational programs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 6B02129 \u201cPhotography art\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        The department has 14 full-time faculty members, including 3 PhD holders and 8 Masters of Arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goals of the Department<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

         The main goal of the department is to train highly qualified specialists in sound directing, cinematography, photography, and audiovisual production who are capable of carrying out creative, technical, research, and production tasks in the modern media environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

         The department strives to provide high-quality artistic and professional education based on a combination of fundamental theoretical training, practical mastery of modern technologies, the development of original creative thinking, and the formation of professional responsibility among future specialists, while taking into account the principles of inclusive education aimed at creating an accessible, supportive, and equitable educational environment for all students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Educational Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

         The educational activities of the department are aimed at forming students\u2019 professional knowledge, skills, and competencies in the fields of sound recording, sound design, audio editing, mixing, mastering, cinematography, photography, lighting technology, composition, television, and digital technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

       The department ensures that students master modern methods of working with audio and video equipment, studio facilities, digital audio workstations, camera equipment, lighting devices, and post-production software tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        An important objective is to develop students\u2019 artistic taste, professional hearing, visual thinking, analytical abilities, teamwork skills, and the ability to make independent creative decisions in real production conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

         The department also pays special attention to updating the content of educational programs, developing educational and methodological materials, and introducing innovative educational technologies, practice-oriented assignments, and project-based learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

         The department\u2019s research activities are focused on studying current issues in sound directing, film and television cinematography, photography, acoustics, digital technologies, media communications, and audiovisual culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

         The department develops research areas related to studio and hall acoustics, critical listening of phonograms, spatial audio, modern sound recording technologies, visual expressiveness of the frame, cinematographic solutions, photographic composition, lighting dramaturgy, digital media production, as well as the study and application of artificial intelligence technologies in the fields of audiovisual art, audio production, photography, and screen media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

         One of the department\u2019s objectives is to involve students in research work, preparation of reports, articles, creative research projects, and participation in conferences, competitions, olympiads, and professional discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creative and Production Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          The department provides practical training for students through the implementation of creative, educational-production, and diploma projects. Special attention is paid to the creation of audiovisual works, sound recording and processing, film production, television projects, photo sessions, musical, and multimedia works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

           The department\u2019s creative and production objectives include developing students\u2019 skills in working in studios, on film sets, in concert and theatre spaces, in field recording conditions, television production, and digital post-production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

           The department forms students\u2019 ability to work as part of a creative team and to interact with directors, cinematographers, sound directors, producers, artists, editors, performers, and technical specialists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Industry and Partnership Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          The department is focused on strengthening the connection between education and the professional industry. An important area of activity is cooperation with film studios, television companies, recording studios, production companies, photo studios, theatres, concert organizations, media platforms, and relevant professional associations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        The department seeks to involve practicing specialists, employers, and industry representatives in the educational process, as well as to organize master classes, creative meetings, production internships, practical training, and joint projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

         Industry partnership makes it possible to update the content of educational programs, take into account current labor market requirements, and ensure the professional adaptation of graduates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Socio-Cultural Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

           The department contributes to the development of national audiovisual culture, the support of creative youth, and the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage through modern forms of film, television, photography, and audio production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

           The socio-cultural mission of the department is to educate specialists with high professional ethics, civic responsibility, respect for cultural diversity, national traditions, and contemporary artistic processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        The department promotes the formation of a creative environment in which students develop individuality, professional culture, communication skills, social responsibility, and the ability to create meaningful artistic and media projects for society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
