Kuralai Umbetova and Serik Tainov, faculty members of the Department of Fine Arts at the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, participated in the national competition for professional artists “Халқым деген Қапез…”, dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of Kapez Baigabyluly, a prominent figure in Kazakh culture.
Following the competition, they received cash prizes and letters of appreciation for their participation and contribution to the creative project.
Tokkozha Kozhagulov, Associate Professor in the Department of Fine Arts, was among the competition’s organizers. Professor Zhumakyn Kairambayev served on the competition jury.
The project aims to preserve national historical memory, promote Kapez Baigabyluly’s spiritual and cultural legacy, and explore his life and significance through contemporary visual art.
The Academy faculty members’ participation helps strengthen creative ties within the professional arts community and promote national cultural values.
