Just recently, the «Samgau» National Short Film Festival took place in Shymkent. Young directors from all over Kazakhstan participated in the event, presenting over 30 films in various genres and themes. Among the best was Amir Kaken, a 3rd-year student majoring in Feature Film Directing at the Faculty of Cinema and TV of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after Temirbek Zhurgenov. He won the «Best Director» award.
