The renowned play “Pinocchio” premiered in Almaty, jointly staged by students of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after Temirbek Zhurgenov and one of Italy’s leading universities.
A modern adaptation of the world classic was presented to a wide audience at the Kuddus Kuzhamyarov Uyghur Musical Comedy Theater. The international “Playing Memories” project was supported by the presidents of Kazakhstan and Italy during the Central Asia – Italy summit.
“More than eight universities are participating in this large-scale project. Today, it has grown into a major creative collaboration encompassing Eastern Europe, Europe, Latin America, and Kazakhstan. It can be seen as a significant step forward in international cultural cooperation,” said Shyngys Yergobek, Vice-Rector of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after Temirbek Zhurgenov.
