On April 20–22, 2026, the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography (Astana) hosted an international competition of young Choreographers dedicated to the International Dance Day.
The large-scale creative event brought together young directors from Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
As part of the event, a master class in Kazakh dance was conducted by Moldakhmetova Alima Talgatovna, PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Department «Ballet Master’s Art» at the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts.
Students of the Faculty of Choreography of the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts took part in the competition: Amina Batayeva (Ballet Master’s Art, 1st year), Asem Artykbayeva (Ballet Master’s Art, 2nd year), Stefania Orekhova (Pedagogy of Contemporary Choreography, 3rd year), Alibi Iskandyrov (Pedagogy of mode Contemporary rn choreography, 3rd year), Faim Kibirov (Ballet Master’s Art, 4th year).
Based on the results of their evaluation, the jury also established special prizes.
Faim Kibirov received the special prize Summer Internship from «Barcelona Ballet Project», established by Irma Cardano.
Kibirov Faim, a 4th-year student of the «Ballet Master’s Art» Educational Program, became the winner of the III Prize.
The winner of the II prize was a 3rd-year student of the Educational Program «Pedagogy of Choreography» Iskandyrov Alibi.
