The Faculty of Theatre Arts at the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after Temirbek Zhurgenov, 4th-year students majoring in Drama and Film Acting under the mentorship of Professor Rakhilyam Mashurova, Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, defended their diploma projects within the framework of the dual education system. The diploma performances were staged at the Zh. Shanin Academic Kazakh Drama Theatre in Shymkent.
As part of their final academic work, the students presented a theatrical triptych based on works by Oralhan Bokei – “The Night the Wolves Howled,” “Ardak,” and “Kerbugy” – as well as a two-act tragedy, “Romeo & Juliet” by William Shakespeare.
The final state attestation was held to assess the students’ performances, with participation from the Chair of the Commission, Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Zh. Tolganbay; Dean of the Faculty of Theatre Arts, Ms. M. Kulseitova; and Head of the Department of Acting and Directing, Ms. B. Kazhnabieva.
