TITLE: Seminar «The work of researchers in international databases and scientific social networks» (Scopus, Science Direct, Web of Science CC, ResearchGate, Google Scholar, ORCID, h-index, etc.)
On September 18, 2024, a seminar was held on the work of researchers in international databases and scientific social networks such as Scopus, Science Direct, Web of Science CC, ResearchGate, Google Scholar, ORCID, h-index, etc.
Young scientists, students and teachers of the Academy took part in the seminar.
The Academy’s Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, Khalykov Kabyl Zamanbekovich, emphasized the importance of researchers’ work in international databases and scientific social networks to increase the visibility of scientific publications. According to him, the use of citation tracking tools such as h-index and ORCID plays a key role in assessing scientific activity. This not only strengthens the reputation of researchers, but also improves the overall competitiveness of the Academy in the international arena.
The head of the Department of «Ballet Mastery», Moldakhmetova Alima Talgatovna, presented a report on the topic «How to publish articles in the Scopus database».
The head of the Scientific and Editorial Department, Zhanna Didarbekovna Ramadanova, introduced and clarified the following questions regarding the seminar:
- 1. Registration in Scopus and Web of Science databases;
- 2. Search for journals and authors in databases;
- 3. Determination of the journal quartile;
- 4. Determination of the journal impact factor;
- 5. Determination of the author’s h-index,
as well as issues of registration and posting of articles in scientific social networks ResearchGate, Google Scholar, ORCID, etc.
At the end of the seminar, recommendations were given for successful publication in international databases and scientific social networks
