On March 18–19, 2026, the 18th National Subject Olympiad in Choreography was held at the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University.

Teams from seven universities across the country participated in the Olympiad:

The Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts (Almaty);

The Kazakh National Academy of Choreography (Astana);

The Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University (Almaty);

Abay Kazakh National Pedagogical University (Almaty);

M. H. Dulati Taraz State University (Taraz);

M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University (Shymkent);

Kozha Ahmed Yassavi Kazakh-Turkish International University (Turkestan).

The following students from the Academy’s Faculty of Choreography competed in the Olympiad:

1. Bolat Malika (3rd year, Choreography Pedagogy)

2. Omar Karakat (3rd year, Choreography Pedagogy)

3. Mariyeva Mariyam (4th year, Choreography Pedagogy)

4. Orazkhanova Daria (4th year, Choreography Pedagogy)

The Choreography Faculty team was prepared by the following faculty members:

1. Moldakhmetova Alima — PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of «Balletmaster’s Art»;

2. Sosnovskaya Vitalina — Lecturer, Department of Choreography Pedagogy.

At the conclusion of the competition, the «KazNAI ballet» team took second place.
