The XXXIV Republican Traditional Festival “Ulytau Uni” featured a zhyrau and zhyrshy competition dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great Kazakh poet Zhambyl Zhabayev.

Students of the Department of Traditional Musical Art at the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts took part in the competition, which aimed to promote the national tradition of epic singing, and won prizes.

According to the results, Karakат Aptikarim took third place, while Ansagan Dildabekkyzy received a Special Prize.

The students’ achievements at the national-level competition reflect their performing skills and creative development. The participants demonstrated the distinctive artistic features of the traditional school of epic singing and contributed to promoting Kazakhstan’s national cultural heritage in a contemporary context.
