From September 24 to 27, 2025, the Vice-Rector of the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts (KazNAA), K.Z. Khalykov, participated in the prestigious International Forum of Rectors of New-Type Universities in Shenzhen, China. The forum, hosted by the Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU), focused on the highly relevant topic: “Artificial Intelligence: Rethinking the Future of New-Type Universities.”




Key Achievements of the Visit
During the visit, Vice-Rector Research Khalykov K.Z. took part in the “Science Week” events and spoke at the official opening of the Forum, marking a number of strategic successes for our Academy:
Signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC): KazNAA named after T. Zhurgenov and the School of Music at Shenzhen Technology University concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation in the fields of culture and science. This document opens new horizons for joint educational and research projects. The MoC was signed alongside 16 other leading universities from around the world.
Recognition for Scenography Excellence: During the solemn closing ceremony of the Forum, Vice-Rector Khalykov K.Z. was awarded the Diploma of Honorary Professor of Shenzhen Technology University for his outstanding achievements in the field of scenography.
Strategic Advisory Role: Vice-Rector Khalykov K.Z. was included in the Strategic Development Advisory Board of the School of Music at Shenzhen Technology University for a period of 3 years. This highly signals international recognition of our Academy’s expertise in integrating art and technology.
Participation in the Forum marks an important step in realizing KazNAA’s strategy to integrate innovative technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, into art education programs, confirming the Academy’s international status as a leader in shaping the “new-type university.”
