At the III Republican Student Short Film Festival “SHABYT CINEMA” held in Astana, students of the Faculty of Cinema and Television were named among the winners. This year, 40 films were submitted to the competition program.
The Best Film award was presented to Adil Kabizhanov, director of the fiction film “Umit” and a 2024-2025 graduate of the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts. The winner was also honored with a special prize from the film company “Alem Empire.”
The Best Screenplay award went to the film “In My Grandfather’s Village in Summer” by Amir Kaken, a 4th-year student majoring in Fiction Film Directing.
The Best Sound Directing award was received by the film “Following a Friend” by Korkem Bekbasheva, a 1st-year Master’s student in Directing.
The Best Trailer prize was awarded to the film “My Name is Kozha” by Zhanabay Beibarys, a 2nd-year student of Fiction Film Directing.
The Jas òner Magazine Award was also presented to Academy student and young director Myrza Makhambet for the fiction film “Arunaz.”
The festival is an important creative platform that helps young talents take their first steps into the professional field. We wish the new generation of filmmakers more meaningful, profound, and inspiring works that resonate with audiences.
