The annual Science Week at the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts has become a good tradition. From April 13 to 17, 2026, the following events are planned within the framework of SCIENCE WEEK – 2026 on the theme “Application of artificial intelligence technologies in the study of art and artistic culture”:
On April 13, at 11:00, as part of the Science Week opening ceremony, a Scientific Forum titled “Transformation of modern media and the public opinion platform” will be held within the framework of the “K. Smayilov Readings.”
On April 13, at 2:00 p.m., the Research and Innovation Department (RID) will organize a master class by Professor M. Freshli within the framework of the International Joint Research Project “Intercultural Communication in the Creative Space of Hungary and Kazakhstan” on the topic: “Artificial Intelligence as a Tool for the Analysis and Interpretation of Works of Art.”
On April 14, at 11:00 a.m., the Faculty of Cinema and Television, the Department of Animation Directing and Interactive Media, will hold the round table “The legacy of director and educator Ersayyn Abdrakhmanov” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth of animation and documentary film director Ersain Abdrakhmanov.
On April 14, at 11:00 a.m., opening of joint commemorative exhibitions of creative works dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of Honored Artist of Kazakhstan, renowned artist-painter, professor of the Academy M. G. Kalimov and the 85th anniversary of the birth of Honored Artist of Kazakhstan, renowned artist-sculptor, professor of the Academy M. O. Ainekov.
On April 14, at 12:00 a.m., a round table will be held with the participation of teachers, students, master’s students and doctoral students of the educational program “Painting”, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of Professor of the T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, Honored Artist of Kazakhstan, famous artist-painter M. G. Kalimov.
On April 14, at 3:00 p.m., a round table will be held with the participation of teachers, students, master’s students and doctoral students of the educational program “Sculpture”, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of Professor of the T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, Honored Artist of Kazakhstan, renowned artist and sculptor M. O. Ainekov.
On April 15, at 10:00 a.m., the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social Sciences will hold the VI City Forum of Student Youth “Science, Creative & Art Forum.”
On April 15, at 10:00 a.m., the VI International Online Competition “Best Poster Presentation” among master’s students of creative universities will take place. The competition is organized by the Department of Scientific Personnel Training in cooperation with academic departments, the library, art universities, and foreign partner universities on the topic: “The Laboratory of the Image: An Interdisciplinary Approach in Contemporary Artistic Practice”.
On April 16, at 10:00 a.m., the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social Sciences will hold the VII International Scientific and Theoretical Conference of Students and Young Scientists “Science, Education and Art in the 21st Century: Vectors of Development, Challenges and Integration.”
On April 16, at 3:00 p.m., in both offline and online formats, the International Competition of Creative Projects and Startups in the Creative Industry “Öner-2026” will take place, organized by the Department of Art Management and Producing. The competition is organized to develop the creative and entrepreneurial activity of students and master’s students, as well as to encourage young people to develop, implement, and participate in creative projects.
On April 17, at 14:00 а.m., the Closing Ceremony of Science Week – 2026 will be held, including the summary of results and the award ceremony.
