In 2023, from June 5-18, students of the Scenography department of the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts participate for the fourth time at the Prague Quadrennial, and for the second time with a joint project of Coastal Carolina University (USA).
“Prague Quadrenniale 2023” – a competition of exhibition, space design and performance of scenography, this time is full of “rare” modern creative interpretations in the works of professionals and students, participants from 106 countries.
According to the student section, the works are exhibited among the pavilions on the main square “Kholoschovice Trzhnice”. The joint project of Kazakh and American students impresses with a creative layout, installation, content of the “Rare” concept through the theme “Kok Bazaar”. The theme embodies the interaction of post-pandemic people in search of new sincerity, truthfulness, reality and creative euphoria. A number of performances are dedicated to the Day of Milk, Day of Meat, Green Day, Divination and Nauryz. Spectator interest of representatives of different countries and cultures involves scenography and performance, traditions and contemporary in the play. It inspires to study the ethnic culture and traditions of the Kazakh theatre, and also expands the boundaries of mutual understanding and new ideas of joint creativity.
