As part of the Week of Science, organized and held at the Academy from April 13 to 17, 2026, on April 14 at 3:00 p.m. in the Academy’s cinema hall, a high-level Round table was held in accordance with the following program:
1) On behalf of the management of the T. Zhurgenov KazNAA, the Vice-Rector for Research, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor K. Z. Khalykov delivered a welcoming speech, noting the importance and educational value of the event for students;
2) Turymtai Koishymanova, sister of Marata Ainekova, who directly participated in the organization of the jubilee exhibition of the sculptor of the international level and the Round Table, specially noted the creative biography of the person and shared valuable materials. T. O. Koishimanova ended her speech with a wish: “I hope that the akimat of the city of Almaty, which is considered a developed tourist metropolis-hub, will open a specialized professional building for young artists and teachers, which will become a creative art square, this is very necessary in our time!”;
3) Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, Honorary Teacher of the O. Tansykbaev Almaty College of Decorative and Applied Art A. A. Moldagalieva shared her memories of the sculptor’s teaching activities at the college;
4) Holder of the Order “Kurmet” RK, professor of the “Fine Arts” department, famous artist-sculptor M. S. Junisbaev shared warm memories of M. O. Ainekov as a college student and colleague;
5) Another student in the college and colleague M. O. Ainekov, holder of the Order “Parasat” RK, docent of the Department of “Fine Arts”, famous artist-sculptor B. Kusainov especially noted the uniqueness of the sculptor;
6) Master ped. of science, head of the “Science Center of Visual Arts of Kazakhstan” A. Kasteev Nat. Museum of Art RK G. A. Zhubanova presented the audience with an art history description of the sculptor’s easel works stored in the museum in her report on the topic “In every form – fate, in every image – history”.
7) Art expert, PhD, senior lecturer of the Department “History and Theory of Fine Art” B. R. Karabalaeva read the report “Artistic features of the monumental sculpture of Marat Ainekova” and evaluated his monuments as an artistic code of national culture and a material manifestation of historical memory.
At the end of the Round table, the Dean of the Faculty “Painting, Sculpture and Design”, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, Professor B. N. Baidilda and the head of the “Fine Arts” department, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, Professor B. S. Turgunbay expressed their gratitude to the relatives of the sculptor Marata Ainekov, guests, teachers and students for their participation and contribution to the success of the event. At the end of the event, vice-rector for scientific work K. Z. Halykov on behalf of the rector of the Academy presented letters of thanks to the sculptor’s relatives, guests and art experts who presented their reports.
