From May 18 to May 22, 2026, Ayaulym Nurbekova, a lecturer of the Department of Fine Arts at the T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, participated in the Erasmus+ academic mobility program at Universitatea de Artă și Design din Cluj-Napoca (Romania).
As part of the program, an introductory presentation was delivered for students of the Painting Department, focusing on contemporary Kazakh fine art and the creative activities of the faculty members of the T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts.
During the meeting, artworks by the academy’s professors were presented, and discussions were held on the development of contemporary painting, compositional explorations, visual language, and the integration of traditional and digital methods in artistic practice.
Meetings were also held with Erasmus+ institutional coordinators, faculty members, and the leadership of the Painting Department, during which prospects for international cooperation, student academic mobility, and the implementation of joint creative projects were discussed.
As part of the visit, professional and research-oriented visits to cultural and artistic institutions in Romania were organized, providing an opportunity to familiarize participants with the European system of art education and contemporary creative practices.
The academic mobility program contributes to strengthening international cultural ties and promoting contemporary Kazakh art at the international level.
