From 27 October to 2 November 2026, the language faculty of the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social Sciences at the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts will hold its traditional Language Week under the theme “Ұлы даланың ұлы есімдері” (“Great Names of the Great Steppe”).

Language Week aims to foster patriotism and active citizenship among students while encouraging their interest in the Kazakh language, history and culture, as well as the lives and creative legacies of prominent Kazakh figures.

The programme explores Kazakhstan’s literary, historical and cultural heritage through intellectual games, creative laboratories, poetry performances, film discussions, historical and literary performances, and project-based activities. These events align with the department’s educational priorities and provide opportunities for students to express their creativity.

First- and second-year students from Kazakh- and Russian-medium programmes across the Academy’s faculties will take part in the events.
