On February 15-16, 2024, on the basis of two universities of Kazakhstan and Russia, a joint project of the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts and the Russian Institute of Theatre Art – GITIS took place: the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Interaction of science and art in the context of choreography pedagogy», dedicated to the memory of Evgeny Valukin and timed to the 30th anniversary of the Faculty of «Choreography» of the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts.

After the official opening of the conference, in the first part of the plenary session, there was a presentation of the book about Evgeny Petrovich Valukin, the release of which was timed to the project. More than 20 researchers from Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus and Uzbekistan took part in the conference.

From the faculty «Choreography» of the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts with reports at the conference were made by

1) Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), senior lecturer, head of the chair «Ballet Master’s Art» – Moldakhmetova Alima Talgatovna;

2) Cultural worker, senior lecturer of the chair «Ballet Master’s Art» — Gulnara Nadymovna Gabbasova;

3) Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, associate professor of the chair of «Ballet Master’s Art», dean of the faculty of «Choreography» — Gulmira Nadymovna Gabbasova;

4) Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, associate professor, professor of the chair «Ballet Master’s Art» — Sushkov Dmitry Valentinovich (moderator), as well as students of the 3rd year, training profile «Pedagogy of Modern Choreography», who danced in the practical part of the report.

The reports presented at the conference were recognized as relevant and can be recommended for publication in the collection of conference materials.
