“CHINGHIZ AYTMATOV IN SOCIO-CULTURAL SPACE OF EURASIA”, dedicated to 95th anniversary of outstanding writer, prose writer and screenwriter Chingiz Aitmatov, within the framework of scientific project “Epoch and Personality”

On December 19, 2023, Department of Foreign Language and APK held Research Workshop on  topic: “CHINGIZ AITMATOV in sociocultural space of Eurasia,” dedicated to 95th anniversary of outstanding writer, prose writer and screenwriter Chingiz Aitmatov, within the framework of scientific project “Epoch and Personality”

Hosts:

• Department of Foreign Language and Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts;
• Research Institute of Turkic and Altaic Studies;
• Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

Purpose:

The purpose of research workshop is multifaceted and  related to relevance and significance of Ch. Aitmatov’s creative heritage for modern society and literary research:

• to consider Ch. Aitmatov’s life path and biography

• to assess topicality of Ch. Aitmatov’s works,

•to reveal universality elements in his ideas,

• to analyze influence of Ch. Aitmatov’s ethnic and cultural affiliation on his creative works,

• to realize what lessons and values can be learned from the works of Ch. Aitmatov for educational purposes.
