On February 3, 2023, at 15.00, the UNESCO Department for Sustainable Development of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management and the Institute for Sustainable Development of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University will hold an international webinar on the topic: “Enhancing the role of universities in the implementation of the SDGs”.

The purpose of the webinar is to assess the contribution of universities to achieving the SDGs, strengthen cooperation by combining the experience of practitioners in the field of SDGs, and assist in the implementation of new initiatives that contribute to change.  

The webinar will be attended by teachers from universities near and far abroad (France, Italy, Nigeria, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan).

In the process of discussing the role of universities in the implementation of the SDGs, issues of cooperation in such areas as the inclusion of the SDGs in the pedagogical and scientific activities of teachers, the implementation of the SDGs in internal management, culture and management of the university as a whole, the development of the leadership potential of young people in the implementation of the SDGs will be considered.
