Оn 30.05.2023 within the framework of the Congress of cultural and Art workers «Turkic culture: common origins and development variations», dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the statesman and public figure Temirbek Zhurgenov, a round table on the topic «Reproduction of images of the Silk Road» was held.
The round table was attended by invited guests: Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Warwick, theater critic Milia Glukhovich (Coventry, UK); Doctor of Philosophy Ebru Gokdag from the State Conservatory of Anadolu University (Turkey), Professor of the Department of Physical Theater Benjamin Sota from the Coastal University of Korolina, (South Korolina, USA) and domestic researchers of theater and theater critics, young researchers.
The moderator of the round table was Kabyl Halykov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts. Within the framework of the main topic, a discussion unfolded about the national theaters and culture of the Silk Road countries. Listening to the opinions of foreign guests, domestic researchers told about the important role of studying the history and oral literature of our country for the study of Kazakh culture and the national theater. Emphasizing the fruitful development of the Kazakh national theater art at the present time, Milia Glukhovich concluded that there is little research in Europe about the features and nature of theaters in Central Asia. Professor Sania Kabdieva said that although there was no permanent theater in Central Asia until the twentieth century, elements of performing arts were represented in national games, traditions, and the work of folk artists. She cited as an example the street performances of Uzbeks, the art of maskharaboz and kyzykshy (analogues of buffoons in the Turkic national culture), sal-seri (poets-performers), ku and shanshar (humorists) in Kazakh art. The round table was held constructively, systematically, which served as a basis for strengthening ties between scientists, implementing new projects.
