The annual competition “The Best University Teacher” is held by the Committee of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Republican Competition Commission selects the best of the best in the profession and celebrates their achievements. In addition to monetary incentives, the winners of the “Best University Teacher” competition receive a badge.
The purpose of the competition is to improve the professional and pedagogical culture of teaching staff at universities, stimulate and motivate teachers for further professional development. Teachers with continuous scientific and pedagogical experience of at least 5 years and high achievements in teaching and scientific activities are allowed to participate in the competition. To participate in the competition, applicants from among full-time university teachers submit their documents through the information system of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education PK (universitycontest2023.iac.kz).

In 2023, the Competition Commission for conducting the intra-academic stage for awarding the title “Best University Teacher” to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan recommended the candidacies of 3 teachers of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after Temirbek Zhurgenov:
1. Tautenbaeva Ainagul Abdumazhitovna – candidate of pedagogy sciences, Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and ANC
2. Nauryzbaeva Ainash Sagatovna – PhD doctor, associate professor of the “Design” department
3. Doszhanov Bauyrzhan Tattibekovich – master of art history, senior teacher of the Department of Decorative Arts.
