March 17 this year, the Department «History and theory of cinema» of the faculty of «Arts» held the II round of the Republican Subject Olympiad on discipline «Critics» in the field Voice on the platform ZOOM in online format. Students of 2-3 courses took an active part in the Olympiad at a high level, were well acquainted with the history of world and Kazakh cinema, expressed their personal opinion about the problems of the modern cinematic process, and conducted a comprehensive analysis of films.

Head of Department, Professor K.K. Nauruzbekova greeted the participants with a welcoming speech.

Participants of the Olympiad were presented with the following topics:

• Cinema – as a means of forming social and cultural consciousness

• Problems of modern media space: broadcasting Kazakh cinema through TV channels    

   and Internet resources

• Features of the biographical genre in cinema, the screen image of famous personalities
